Summary of New Zealand History.

Today in we watched a video and it had answers to a sheet we got. We had to answer them while we watched the video. Here are the questions and the answer. Abel Tasman was the first explorer to arrive in Aotearoa and he arrived in 1674. He named it Nova Zealandia. The second explorer was captain James Cook and he arrived in 1769. He also had a chief navigator to help him. The chief navigators name was TuPaia. The Explorers brought over Potatoes, Pigs, Ship rats and disuses. There was also a question that said whats a musket? Well a musket is a type of rifle that uses gunpowder. And there was a big musket war. The musket war ended in the late 1830's. The ratio Maori and Pakeha was 1 Pakeha equals 40 Maori.
